Before vacation

This last picture is of Adam standing in the start of the doorway. Chip loves working on this. He comes home from work and works on it almost every day. He will enjoy having the next 11 days off.

Sweet Baby Girl

My sweet little Anna..... she is seven weeks old today. It makes me a little sad. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait to see what she is going to look like when she gets a little bigger. I can't wait to see what color hair she will have, and I love when the babies get the two bottom teeth. SO cute! And honestly, I can't wait for her to sleep a little longer... even though the email I read today said it was unrealistic for a 7 week old to sleep more than 3-4 hours at a time. And she sleeps for six or more so I really can't complain. But an eight hour night? That will be great!
I remember with Adam I kept thinking, it will get better when he can play with things, roll over, sit up, etc. I couldn't WAIT for him to get to the next stage of baby-dome. But I didn't feel that way with Van or with her really. It makes me sad that she is getting bigger. I read something once that said, 'why are we always sad when our kids grow? That is what kids are supposed to do... grow and be healthy.' But it is sad.
I have been watching bits and pieces of those shows on Discovery Health- I think it is baby week- the ones where 'I didn't know I was pregnant,' 'Bringing home baby' 'Giving birth in your home' or whatever they are. Not like REALLY watching them but just grabbing snippets here and there. And I think, I won't get her back like that again. She is never going to be seven pounds 3 ounces. She is already 'stretched out' kinda, not in like that little baby ball anymore. And don't even get me started on going back to work. If I think it is going by fast now, September is going to be a real awakening. I am trying to savor every minute now.
She is a joy though. She is smiling and cooing and LOVES her brothers. She always talks to Adam. And she is starting to look at her hands and tries to bop things. I need to get her baby toys out. My sweet little muffin- I love her.

The progress

This was as of Thursday- today is Sunday and we have a little more. I just haven't taken pictures yet. Basically it is higher and a doorway has been started. What you see now is going to be mostly underground anyway he tells me.

Riding Bikes at the School

I really should have the whole thing on video. We tried a few times for Adam to ride his bike at home without training wheels and he was NOT happy about it. We told him we were going to go down to school and ride bikes tonight and he was happy...until he found out it was without training wheels. We should have had the conversation on video in the car. He was NOT riding his bike, he was MAD at Daddy and the whole nine yards. So Chip took him and bike in the grass soccer field, they practiced for like two minutes- literally by the time I got the baby out of the car, they were back down in the parking lot. And then they were on their way. He did REALLY REALLY well. He knows how to stop it and steer it and would go the entire length of the parking lot and not fall down. I am so proud of him! But a little sad to see how big he is. :(

As of today

Looking up the hill

Looking down the hill

They really did more than that but I needed to feed the baby so I went home. They put boards around the poured stone, hammered in re-bar, (If that's how you spell it) and put down some wire fence looking thing that you put down before cement is poured. Obviously don't call me if you need a project done, I have no idea what I am talking about! The cement is ordered and is coming Monday afternoon. I'll post a pic of that then. And he his making the roof look like the one in the picture. I asked how and he said....You'll see. Better him than me!

This summer's project

Every summer, Chip has a project (or two) that he plans on doing. Last summer was the pool. This summer he plans on making one of these stone gazebos.
For the past six (he tells me six because our first year we were at Catlin Creek getting married) years we have gone to Mohonk Mountain House for our anniversary. It's our little tradition and I love it. They have these stone gazebos. He got in his mind that he wanted to make one so we took a camera one year and he took a bunch of pictures. Here are two of them. Since we live on a mountain, we don't lack rock by any means. His plan is to get some cement and build one. I don't know if it will turn out as nice as these (not that I doubt my husband's skills but I have no idea how he would make the roof pointed like that). But I am anxious to see what it looks like. I will take pictures and post them as he does it. I plan on Anna getting married on our hill in this thing. :) We'll see.
Sorry for the lack of blogging. Chip dropped the camera at the Grahamsville Gallop last week and broke it so I am without a camera until I go and get one. We have pictures of Van's race but after that is when he dropped it so we are relying on my mom's disposable one for Adam's race. We have everything on video though. :)
